He holds a J.S.D. from Stanford Law School and an LL.M from Harvard Law School. Dr. Lee has published extensively in English and in Chinese on various aspects of intellectual property and Internet law. His research appears in leading academic journals, such as <em>Wake Forrest Law Review<\/em>, <em>Virginia Journal of International Law,<\/em> <em>Oregon Law Review<\/em>, <em>Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law<\/em>, <em>Cardozo Arts &amp; Entertainment Law Review<\/em>, <em>Minnesota Journal of Law<\/em>, <em>Science &amp; Technology<\/em>,<em> European Intellectual Property Review<\/em> (EIPR), <em>Hastings Business Law Journal<\/em>, <em>American University International Law Review<\/em>, <em>UMKC Law Review<\/em>, <em>Jurimetrics<\/em>,\u00a0 <em>Washington International Law Journal<\/em>, etc. He is also the sole author of two books: <em>Coding a Free Society: Open Source Strategies for Policymakers<\/em> (VDM Verlag M\u00fcller Press, 2007) and <em>Nonprofit Organizations and the Intellectual Commons<\/em> (Edward Elgar, 2012).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his studies at Stanford Law\nSchool, Dr. Lee was appointed the John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.\nPrior to joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he taught at National\nChengchi University and was an Associate Research Fellow in the Center for\nInformation Technology Innovation at Academia Sinica in Taiwan. He was the Legal\nLead and Co-Lead of Creative Commons Taiwan (2011\u20132014) and an advisory\ncommittee member for Copyright Amendment in the Taiwan Intellectual Property\nOffice (TIPO) at the Ministry of Economic Affairs (2011\u20132014). He has been the\nLegal Lead of the Creative Commons Hong Kong Chapter since October 2018. Professor\nLee is currently a member of the advisory board of the European Center for\nE-Commerce &amp; Internet Law affiliated with the University of Vienna. In\n2016, he was appointed a domain name dispute resolution panellist by the Asian\nDomain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) and continues to serve in this\ncapacity.&nbsp;Dr. Lee is also the Director of the Academic Committee for the\nAsia Innovation and Intellectual Property Society. Professor Lee has been featured\non BBC News, ABC News, Bloomberg News, and Financial Times as an expert on\nintellectual property and Internet law.
