Publishing Legal Education Research

Abstract:

This keynote will consider some of the challenges and opportunities presented in publishing legal education research. The presentation will make reference to both the Hong Kong RAE2020 and UK REF2021 assessment criteria in considering originality, significance, and rigour, and consider how this criteria can be applied to the production of legal education research which might take a number of forms including, for example: action-research, empirical, theoretical, comparative, and autoethnographic. The keynote will also draw on experiences of editing an academic journal and seek to demystify the process of publishing and the decision-making process (including peer review).
