With a bachelor degree in science and a Master degree in agronomy, Sylvia was allowed a full scholarship and came to HK in 1999. She graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Doctor of Philosophy in urban planning and environmental management in 2003. Now she is a licensed PRC patent attorney and a member of All-China Patent Attorneys Association.
From 2004 to early 2011, Dr. Song was an employed patent engineer with a top tier Chinese IP firm in Hong Kong specializing in patent prosecution in chemistry field. She is experienced in analyzing the novelty and inventive steps of patent applications. Sylvia founded the Hong Kong Patent & Trademark Agent Ltd (HKPTA) in March 2011, now she advises clients on patent prosecution in the areas of chemistry and mechanical engineering as well as on designs and trademark registrations etc.
