Abstract:
Law is one of the oldest professions in the world unfortunately it is still struck in dark ages. There has not been any radical change in either the methods or subjects taught in law schools. At the time of International Arbitrations and enhanced medical techniques most of the subjects and methods which are part of legal education have become redundant. However, subjects which have no utility are taught at the expense of the Innovative Subjects which are need of an hour.
Young minds often remain alien to the Innovative subjects which not only hinder the development of their intellect but also the development of law. If we don’t’ include subjects which are relevant in the modern world then we may end up in the situation where we would have only problems but no knowledge to solve them.
With the changing dimensions in law legal education should emphasise in subjects which have practical applicability in today’s world. A young law graduates have limited career paths which includes being a solicitor, corporate job or became an academician. Subjects like Forensic science, Crime scene management which are integral part of every criminal trial should be inculcated in legal education. Similarly, specialised subjects should like Cross Border Transaction, Mergers and acquisitions should introduced which would give an edge to the students who want to pursue career in corporate world.
Every year millions of young minds join the legal profession around the globe. It just takes them some time to realise that most of the legal education which they received have no utility to solve the real life problems and they remain alien to subjects which are essential for their growth.
