Dr. Daniel SO – CEO & Co-Founder, Genvida (HK) Co. Ltd
Dr. Daniel So received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has 25+ years of R&D and management experience in Silicon Valley. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of Genvida, a nanobiotech startup in the Hong Kong Science Park. Previously, he worked for Intel, HP / Agilent and Motorola, and consulted for Life Technologies / ThermoFisher. He was the co-founder and CTO of Scenterra.
His expertise centers on micro-/nanoscale technology. Notable scientific accomplishments include: (1) world’s first implementation of chromeless phase-shift mask technique for the fabrication of T-gate in millimeter-wave integrated circuits, (2) realtime programmable LiPMAS (nanoLight-Pipe MicroArray Synthesis) system for maskless fabrication of microarrays, and (3) portable SONAS (SOlid-state NAnopore Sequencing) technology for low cost, realtime sequencing.
