Sylvia graduated with a bachelor degree in science, a Master degree in agronomy，and a PhD in urban planning and environmental management in 2003 from the University of Hong Kong. She is a licensed PRC patent attorney and member of All-China Patent Attorneys Association.
Sylvia is IP practitioner with rich experiences. From 2004 to early 2011, Sylvia was an employed patent engineer with a top tier Chinese IP firm in Hong Kong specialising in patent prosecution in the fields of chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, pesticides and cosmetics. She is an expert in analyzing the novelty and inventive steps. Sylvia founded the Hong Kong Patent & Trademark Agent Ltd (HKPTA) in March 2011, now she advises clients on patent prosecution in the areas of chemistry and mechanical engineering as well as on designs and trademark registrations.
