The 10th Asian Privacy Scholars Network (APSN) Conference will be held on Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 September 2026 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Law, Hong Kong SAR, China.
Theme of Conference
The theme of the 10th APSN Conference is ‘Privacy and Data Protection in the Age of Intelligent Systems’. The conference will explore contemporary issues relating to privacy law, data protection and the interaction of these laws with related fields of technology regulation, in particular the governance of AI and other data-driven technologies.
Panels are scheduled to include:
- Reconfiguring Data Protection and AI Governance
- Data Privacy, Vulnerability, and Remedies
- Cross-Border Flows and Data Sovereignty
- Reconceptualising Privacy Frameworks in the Age of AI
- Protecting Data Privacy in Healthcare AI
- Privacy, Democracy and Children
The conference is open to APSN members as well as privacy academics, practitioners, policy makers, regulators and non-legal scholars who identify with the aims of the APSN. For registration, please see separate tab.
The conference will begin with a Young Privacy Scholars Colloquium on 23 September 2026, followed by two days of presentations and discussions by established scholars and practitioners in the field. The programme brings together cross-jurisdictional and comparative perspectives on privacy and data protection, alongside analyses of national laws and regulatory frameworks from Asia and beyond.
